November 1st

Sun Nov 1, 2009, 12:09 PM
Happy Dia de los Muertos. Today is the first day in the past few weekends that have been decent and I have been itching to get out. Out after the Sun came up and looked for whatever looked interesting. Found a few things that were of interest to me. Hard to compare to the Eastern Sierra this time of the year, or the snow in Colorado, but take what I can get.

Where were you?

Do you remember where you were and what you were doing on July 20th, 1969. I was working at Safeway Grocery Store in Las Vegas, NV. Got off work and rushed home to watch Neil Armstrong set foot on the Moon.

Back Home from San Jose

Sun May 17, 2009, 2:44 PM
Got home last night from attending a meeting in San Jose, CA. Spent approximately 10 days in CA. Before the meeting enjoyed a short but great visit with my folks in Bakersfield, roamed around Kern County looking at some of the agriculture and going to the Rail and Agriculture Museum in Shafter. The trip to San Jose was partially on Hwy 1 which gave me a quick view of the Pacific. One day I am going to drive Hwy 1 from LA to San Francisco and further. San Jose is a nice city and enjoyed the visit there even though most of the time was spent in a meeting.

After the meeting was over, headed to Fresno to spend the evening with my mother-in-law. The early afternoon flight out of Fresno was great. Saw Half Dome and Yosemite Falls, the Grand Canyon and Lake Powell which was indescribable seeing them from the air. The bad thing was seeing how little snow is still left in the Sierras.

Happy Mothers Day

Hope all you moms are having a good day. I have a meeting in San Jose, CA. this week and flew to CA. a few days early to spend with my mom and dad in Bakersfield. It has been a short visit, but unfortunately have to leave tomorrow and drive to San Jose. Not sure which way I will go, but want to do some sight seeing as I go.

For all those that live in the Kern County area, I recommend the Agricultural Museum in Shafter. I alot of good exhibits. My dad and I spent about 3 hours, going through it.

Happy Easter

Sun Apr 12, 2009, 5:19 PM
Hope all of you out in DA have/had a good Easter. Mine was good, all my kids and both granddaughters ate the Easter meal with us. The girls hunted eggs in the living room due to the rain outside. The evening was cut short when we looked at the radar and those not living with us anymore, decided it was time to go before the next wave came in. Overall a good day.

Hopefully, the rain will settle the pollen some. Allergies really kicking up.
